"Ultimately this project is about transcendence. The person I am at the start of the project is powerful and unapologetic. That's who I am, but more so as a response to my environment. As the project continues we peel back the layers of myself and reveal the contents of my heart as well as my mind. I like to think of it as a journey from the root chackra to the crown chackra with lots of detours in the middle!" - ROZAY LABEIJA
New York transplant and Futurehood affiliate Rozay LaBeija first teamed up with artist Celestial Trax to bring his vogue-infused hiphop off of the runway and into the club with their New Flesh EP, containing Mixmag's Bass Tune of the Month "I Can Do That Too". Past releases include remixing Skyshaker of GHE20GOTHIK and a second EP featuring Orlando Volcano, DaiBurger, Jay Boogie and Quay Dash. After performing at MoMA PS1, SXSW, and Boiler Room, Rozay is now preparing their first international tour as the release of their debut album approaches. As a member of the legendary House of LaBeija, Roosevelt can be seen at balls all across New York with upcoming appearances at Latex Ball and the Kiki House of Old Navy Anniversary Ball.
